Holiday Inn to host annual JPM Championship Awards Banquet

ROSEVILLE, CA (12-8-03) - The Holiday Inn of Chico has been the selected site to host the annual John Padjen Motorsports championship awards banquet on Saturday, January 31, 2004. This event will be a combined ceremony to honor the top drivers for their success in each of the weekly divisions at Silver Dollar Speedway, Placerville Speedway and the traveling California Sprint Car Civil War Series.
The top ten drivers in the season point standings in the three weekly divisions at both Silver Dollar Speedway and Placerville Speedway will be honored for their efforts. In addition to those 60 championship awards being presented, the Rookie of the Year recipients will be announced and honored as well.
Concluding the presentations will be the championship presentation for the California Sprint Car Civil War Series, the traveling series for winged Pacific Sprint cars founded by John Padjen Motorsports more than a decade ago. This series traveled to five different California speedways in 2003 and the top 20 drivers in the series point standings will be honored for their efforts.
Attendance for the annual John Padjen Motorsports banquet will be permitted by reservation only. Seating is available for only 200 people and no admission will be granted at the door without prior commitment so early reservations are suggested.
Tickets are $30 per person which includes dinner choices of either Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon or Chicken Andrew with Rice Pilaf. Reservations for this event must be made prior to January 21 and once 200 tickets have been sold no further reservations will be accepted. A no host bar will be open at 6:30 with dinner being served at 7:30 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony which will be hosted by track announcers Troy Hennig and Bill Sullivan. In addition to the awards presented by John Padjen Motorsports, additional championship winnings from Hoosier Racing Tires will be distributed accordingly as well as year end contingency awards for the Civil War Series.
