FORT WORTH, TX (January 29) – The World of Outlaws is pleased to announce it
has signed O'Reilly Auto Parts as its new title sponsor, series President Ted
Johnson said Wednesday at Texas Motor Speedway’s Texas Tour 2003. Sprint car
racing's premier sanctioning organization will now be known as the O'Reilly
World of Outlaws Series.
"We see this as a perfect fit for both parties," O'Reilly's VP of
Advertising, Marketing and Training Ron Byerly said. "The World of
Outlaws is the premier sprint car series in America. In 2003, they will race
at 50 tracks in 27 states covering 100 dates. O'Reilly Auto Parts has expanded
throughout the Midwest and Southeast to become one of the largest motorsports
sponsors in the country. We're extremely excited to partner with one of the
top racing series in the world."
O'Reilly Automotive, Inc., which officially opened its first auto parts
business in Springfield, MO, in November of 1957, recently opened its 1,000th
store.
"This season marks the 25th anniversary of the World of Outlaws,"
Johnson said. "For 25 years, we have been the premier series in sprint
car racing. By adding a major player like O'Reilly Auto Parts as our title
sponsor, we have positioned ourselves for continued success in the next 25
years."
Through the years, the underlying spirit and philosophy of both the World of
Outlaws and O'Reilly Automotive, Inc., has been growth and progress for the
company and its team members.
The O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series will open its 25th Anniversary season
February 21st at Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA.
